Paul A. Hallam
The artist notes the following:
“I have compositions of people, trees, and Ontario landscapes in all seasons.
I try for a rhythmic circulating composition, with colours chosen to fit the mood. Although these are mostly landscapes, I also find enjoyment in painting the odd still life that catches my eye. I paint either in oil or watercolour, depending on the subject or location .
Most of my training was from my dad, the late J. Sydney Hallam, RCA, OSA. who got me painting when I was thirteen. On numerous occasions I was invited to go on sketching excursions, --- the best way to learn!
Being raised in an artist's family exposed me to the work of his contemporaries. I admire A.Y Jackson's rhythm; Alan Collier's rocks and prairie landscapes; A.J. Casson's big skies and old houses; York Wilson's forms and colour and L.A.C. Panton's mysticism.”
The artist’s past exhibitions include:
St. Mark’s Knox Hall: 2015
