This photograph, a part of the 2000 exhibition “Roy Arden: Fragments (Photographs, 1981-85),” features fellow Canadian photographer Greg Girard, shirtless, back turned with arms raised above his head leaning against a wall; next to him hangs a leather jacket. In a press release for the show, Arden stated his interest in photographs “full of flesh and things”, which function “as a lyrical but Realist poetry.”
