A typed label on the reverse of the framing notes “The model for this oil painting was an etching of Toronto, ‘At the Foot of Church Street on the Bay.’ Etching done by W.H. Bartlett around 1860...This information supplied by Commissioner W.H. Bosley, 4th November, 1947.
