In this image, a table full of glasses and candles is surrounded by partygoers; a man and woman are interacting with one another,  the woman's neck outstretched as she looks up to speak with him. Larry Fink’s lively images of American nightlife began with his series “Social Graces” in the mid-1970s, where he captured the parties of Manhattan but also took an interest in the lives of rural Pennsylvanian townspeople. All aspects of American society were celebrated in Fink’s images, from the most sentimental and intimate of birthdays and weddings to the glamorous escapades at Studio 54.
