This silkscreen was part of the collection of Jack Bush and was the work which the artist used for final approval of the run of the "Red Stripes - New York" series. This artwork is one of the "hors d’commerce" proofs.
Jack Bush's 1962 goache, "Red Stripes - New York" hung in the Bush living room, the composition central in the artist's home. The print was part of the "Five Colour Prints" series, published by David Mirvish Gallery in 1965.
