Paul Barnard Earle
(1872 - 1955)
Born in Montreal, Quebec, he studied under Edmond Dyonnet, William Brymner and Maurice Cullen at the Monument National, Montreal. He travelled in Italy and France but few other details have been printed about this artist. It is indicated that he was an associate of the Royal Canadian Academy although no mention is made of him in their catalogues. William Colgate listed him among the notable students of William Brymner. The National Gallery of Canada has a canvas by him entitled “The First Snow” and signed Paul B. Earle/1916. This canvas was exhibited in the Montreal Spring Exhibition in 1917.
