Oscar de Lall
(1903 - 1971) RCA

Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, he followed his own self teaching plan in painting. He came to Canada in 1926 and settled in Montreal where he studied drawing under Edmond Dyonnet. He was influenced by the work of Velasquez, Rembrandt, Frans Hals, Degas, and Manet. Using realistic style for portraits and impressionistic in landscape, he worked in oils charcoal and pastel. He was elected A.R.C.A. 1946, R.C.A. 1958. He lived in Montreal.
