This artwork was purchased directly from Maud Lewis in August, 1966 by the consignor’s family. The family visited Maud and Everett Lewis at their home in Digby, Nova Scotia and took a Polaroid photograph of the couple. The photograph is included with this lot.
“Winter Sleighing Scene with a Covered Bridge” was likely painted in 1966.
