Walter Edwin Huntley
(1887 - 1931)

Born in Newark, N.J., he studied at the Arts Students’ League under Bridgeman and Chase. He came to Canada in 1917 and settled in Winnipeg for three years, and later moved to Toronto in 1920. A landscape painter and commercial artist he became a member of the Canadian Society of Graphic Art (Pres. 1924), the Ontario Society of Artists (1925) and the Arts and Letters Club, Toronto. He exhibited in the Canadian Arts Section of the British Empire show (1924) and in the Canadian exhibit in Paris (1927) where his work was highly commended. He died in Toronto at the age of 44.
