Wilfred Molson Barnes
(1892 - 1955)

Born in Montreal, Quebec, he studied at the Art Association of Montreal school under William Brymner and Maurice Cullen also the New York School of Art with William Chase, Robert Henri, Kenneth Hayes Miller; the Art Students’ League, New York and returned to Canada where he became a painter of landscapes in realistic style. He did some teaching and was active in art circles. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Academy (A.R.C.A. 1920 - R.C.A. 1946). The National Gallery of Canada has three canvases by him, “A Summer Storm”, “The Day Turns Ghost” and “Afternoon Shadows”. He died in Montreal.
