According to MacDonald historian, Charles Beale, this artwork was “painted along River Road, south of Napanee where the Napanee River joins the Bay of Quinte. Flowering apple trees frame this stucco-clad Loyalist home. In the far ground is the Bay of Quinte with the Prince Edward County High Shore and sky in striking blue. The artwork is within its original frame.”
We extend our thanks to Charles Beale for providing this information.
