Laura Adeline Lyall Muntz
(1860 - 1930) OSA, ARCA

Muntz was a Canadian impressionist painter best known best for her portraits of mothers and children. She studied under Lucius Richard Ob'Brien and George Anew Reid at the Ontario School of Art, and traveled to Europe to continue her studies through exposure to the work of the old masters and through formal training at the Academie Colariossi in Paris. Muntz was the first woman appointed to Executive Council of the Ontario Society of Artists in 1899.
