Belonging to a series which suggests the subject to be relics of the bronze age, “Échos et vestiges de l’âge de bronze #9” presents a different formal structure when compared to that of “#7”. De Tonnancour had a more controlled approach, using a grid of straight lines which bring to mind a mathematical graph or blueprint. Rather than floating freely in “#7”, the abstract organic shapes are tightly arranged into the upper portion of the canvas. “Échos et vestiges de l’âge de bronze #9” represents the examination and archiving of ancient artifacts in an organized manner.
