Born in Minnedosa, Manitoba, he studied in Toronto under William Cruikshank and in New York at the Art Students' League under George Bellows and Thomas Fogarty. A realistic painter of landscapes, he exhibited with the Ontario Society of Artists and is represented in the National Gallery of Canada by a canvas entitled “Evening on The Don.”
